“In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” This verse from Judges 21 was quoted yesterday in several posts in Israel. That is the mood among the people.

Everyone is doing what they think is right. This isn’t just happening on one side of the population, but everywhere—among leftists, right-wingers, religious and secular people. Bibi, the king of Israel in the American Congress, divides the people so much that everyone expresses their dissatisfaction and does what they think is right. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu projected more unity in his speech in Washington than at home. We are facing a possible war in the north or a multi-front war in the Middle East, and what are we doing? We are fighting each other instead of the enemy. No one in the nation benefits from this; the only ones who do are our enemies—Hezbollah, Hamas and Iran. Our enemies see that there is no king in Israel and are lying in wait to strike.

    Easy for my to be critical with no skin in the game. But stepping back from the politics that gets lost in the weeds, the truth of the matter is that this war has gone on waaaaay too long. A group of demons in the north has caused great harm to Israel and it northern citizens, yet the endless drip of indecisions continues , when what needs to be done is obvious. How many more innocents have to die and be traumatized before the obvious cure is implemented ?
