Netanyahu’s government has been promising us almost every day for months that it will completely destroy Hamas.

As difficult as this may sound, Israel must act because the other options are more dangerous as long as the terrorist organization survives. The “humanitarian threat” to Palestinian civilians is only a political excuse and not a reason not to operate in Rafah. There is no other army in the world that shows as much consideration for its enemies as Israel’s.

The last terrorist brigade is located in Rafah, and it is also believed that the Hamas leadership is holed up in the tunnels behind Israeli hostages. Anyone who thinks they can talk about the “day after the Gaza war” without having destroyed Hamas and conquered the 12-kilometer-long Philadelphia Corridor between the Gaza Strip and Egypt must know that would mean defeat for Israel. An end to the war must come through Rafah because the tunnels under the city running into the Egyptian Sinai are the lifeline for Gaza terrorism, and must be blown up.
