At the beginning of the story of Moses we read how his mother Jochebed hid him for three months. Only after that she put him in a little basket on the Nile River.
“And the woman conceived and gave birth to a son, and she saw he was good, and she HID him for three months.” (Exodus 2:2)
The word “hid” is a key word in this wonderful story. In order to understand the power of the words that come from the root of this word (Ts.F.N.), it is worthwhile to look at other places in the Bible that develop the meaning. We find this word in the story of the spies who come to Rahab’s house. She “hides/conceals” them under the flax on the roof.
And in Joseph’s story, after he interprets Pharaoh’s dreams, Pharaoh appoints him viceroy and gives him a new name “TsaFNat Panach.”
