Top Pro-Israel Figures in America Want Trump to Fire His NSA

Mounting evidence suggests H.R. McMaster could work to derail Trump’s stated pro-Israel policies

By |

There is a mounting campaign amongst conservatives in America to convince President Donald Trump to fire his national security adviser, H.R. McMaster.

Leading the charge are top pro-Israel figures like Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) President Morton Klein and billionaire philanthropist Sheldon Adelson.

Klein and the ZOA have published a number of reports highlighting McMaster's hostility toward the Jewish state, his support for the failed Iran nuclear deal, and his whitewashing of Islamic terror groups like Hamas and Al Qaeda.

Israel-supporters fear McMaster will use his position to derail Trump's stated pro-Israel policies.

For his part, Adelson is a major financial backer of the Trump presidency, and had previously declined to join any kind of public attack on the president's staffing choices.

Liberal media outlets in America took that to mean that Adelson rejected the criticism of McMaster.

But in an email to Klein that was given to the JTA, Adelson acknowledged that he previously didn't know much about Trump's NSA, and now that he's learned more, he supports efforts to remove McMaster from the White House staff.

Adelson, who has some degree of influence with Trump for the aforementioned reasons, concluded his email to Klein by stating:

"Politics is your full time job. It’s not my full time job. I can’t get involved in every campaign and every debate. Now that I have talked to somebody with personal experience with McMaster, I support your efforts. Not that I am looking to get deeply involved in this debate."
