
Everyone has heard of Trump’s peace plan with its two aspects, first the economic part presented at the Bahrain conference in 2019, as well as the political component proposed more recently. But what we do not know is what should happen after the implementation of this plan.
The simple solution is to dissolve the Palestinian Authority through an American-sponsored initiative that starts with expelling the Palestinian Authority from the Arab League. For this to happen requires the re-election of Donald Trump in the upcoming US presidential election, as well as the establishment of a European Union-like economic coalition between Israel and the Persian Gulf states and a NATO-like military alliance between Israel, Jordan and Egypt. In this way the Iranian threat can be best countered and the Middle East put back on a path to genuine stability.
But this scheme starts with ending the Palestinian Authority by first cutting off all material support to UNRWA and the regime of Mahmoud Abbas, leading to its inevitable collapse. But what will be the fate of the Palestinian residents of the West Bank,...
