There is hardly a more powerful image than a dead child. It shatters the heart, leaves one speechless, and can change the opinion of millions of people. That is precisely why the question is so disturbing: What happens when the blood of a child is not merely mourned, but turned into a weapon in the war for global public opinion? Israel knows dead children, weeping parents, and immeasurable grief. Yet in the Jewish understanding, the dead do not belong to the camera. Their blood cries out to God, not to ratings. And perhaps this is where one of the deepest differences in this war begins.
It is an uncomfortable question: “Why do we see so many images of dead and severely injured Palestinian children from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, while comparable images of Israeli victims are circulated far less frequently?” The Jordanian author Danny Burmawi puts it starkly in his clip: “From October 7th until today — actually from 1948 until today — one question arises: Have you ever seen a video of an Israeli father sitting beside the blood-soaked body...
