“The targets included power plants and a seaport, which were used by the Houthis to transfer Iranian weapons to the region,” the military announced.
The strike came less than 24 hours after the attempted assassination of Hezbollah’s No. 3 terrorist commander, Ali Karaki, in the same area.
IAF fighter jets carried out a “targeted strike” in Dahiyeh, a Hezbollah stronghold in south Beirut.
More than 450 Hezbollah operatives sustained wounds, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.
The IDF declined to comment on the incident, which came just hours after the Israeli Cabinet added the return of citizens displaced from their homes in the north to the country’s war goals.
The resolution is expected to be brought to a vote at the U.N. General Assembly, which is scheduled to open on Sept. 10.
“We’re open to considering it. But I don’t see that happening right now. And until that happens, we’re there,” said the Israeli leader.
“The latest [Israeli] massacre, the latest oppression, was the crime against the leader martyr Ismail Haniyeh,” said the Palestinian Authority leader.
The report said that Israeli intelligence indicates that the attack could be launched before the Gaza talks scheduled for Aug. 15.
