What will your kids be doing this summer? The traditional activity, at least for children in Israel and the West, is for children to head off to summer camp, where they’ll learn new skills, bolster friendships and generally be kept busy and entertained.
Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip are doing the same. But with a twist.
Gaza’s annual Hamas-run summer camp opened this week. During this camp, local children will:
- Be taught to keep their bodies trained for war;
- Be instructed on the use of automatic weapons; and
- Be indoctrinated with an undying hatred for Israel and the Jewish people that will make a peaceful resolution to the current conflict all but impossible for yet another generation.
It is no exaggeration to call this child abuse.
