The biblical holy days, orderly presented in the book of Leviticus chapter 23, are called the Lord’s appointed dates (Moadim in Hebrew). They begin with the weekly cycle of the seventh-day sabbath, and then follow the other festivals within an annual (monthly) cycle.
Altogether, seven holy days, holy hours, and sacred seasons are named there, as follows: the Sabbath, Passover, Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Day of Blowing (Trumpets), Yom Kippur and Booths (Tabernacles). Yet, no less than eleven verses in the same chapter command to observe those times by holding holy convocations. Holiness, in diverse forms, is a fundamental aspect in the life of a Bible believer.
