Beware of Christians! Mayor takes aim at ‘missionaries’ in Jerusalem March

For decades thousands of Christian lovers of Israel have participated in the Jerusalem March that takes place during the biblical feast of Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles.

They do this in preemptive fulfillment of Zechariah 14:16, which tells us:

“And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.”

They also do it in repudiation of Replacement Theology and centuries of Christian mistreatment of the Jewish people, and as part of a broader return to the Hebraic (read: Jewish) roots of their own faith.

But where most Israelis today gratefully see a natural ally, if not a sibling in faith, Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Aryeh King sees mortal danger in a clever new disguise.

In a Facebook post yesterday, King warned Jewish residents of Jerusalem to not let their children attend or roam unsupervised the upcoming march slated for next Wednesday.

Wrote King:

“Of the tens of thousands of marchers, there will also be a few hundred and maybe even more Christian missionaries who come with the express purpose of making contact with Jews in order to spread their religion.

“Out of a sense of responsibility for each and every one of my Jewish brothers, I warn you not to send your children alone to the march. Do not fall into the honey traps that the missionaries use [such as providing aid to Israel].

“I must also emphasize that there will be many Christians marching without a missionary agenda and without negative intentions, so do not take it as a bad thing to make contact with non-Jews during the march. But regarding the [participating] missionary organizations, please be vigilant and sharpen your senses. They will use all means to make contact with and collect personal information from willing Jews, with whom they will later try to develop a personal relationship leading to a dangerous slippery slope.”

As noted, many if not most Israelis today see Evangelical Christians (who make up the bulk of those participating in the march) as friends and allies. So King encouraged his followers to watch a short video (Hebrew) explaining why so-called “Christian Zionists” should really be considered wolves in sheep’s clothing.

In the video, a woman’s voice asks:

“On Rosh Hashanah we stood and proclaimed the Holy One to be king over us and the entire world. Can we now, two weeks later, stand and watch as Christians proclaim Jesus to be king, and this from our holy city of Jerusalem?”

She insisted that the answer is ‘No’ and that it was incumbent upon all “informed” Jews to act to protect the masses of “naive” Jews who will participate in the Jerusalem March side-by-side with Christians.

As “evidence” of Christian Zionists being a threat to the Jewish people, the video recalled an incident that took place at the tail end of Shavuot (Pentecost) at the Southern Stairs of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

At the time, a group of up to several hundred religious Jewish activists protested against and harassed Evangelical tourists who were arriving at the site for a large Christian worship event.

Aryeh King was also involved.

“This is a protest against those who allowed Christian missionaries to hold a Christian worship ceremony designed to prepare a missionary effort directed at Israelis, and against the missionaries,” said King. “As far as I’m concerned, let every missionary know they are not welcome in the Land of Israel.”

The protest coincided with the conclusion of the 21-day “Isaiah 62” prayer and fast period that Christians around the world held for Israel.

Some religious Jewish groups were upset because the Isaiah 62 fast organizers defined it as a campaign “for the increase of God’s salvation promises and plans for Jerusalem and Israel.” They interpreted this to mean a “missionary” effort to “convert” Jews.

Opposition lawmaker and former Minister of Religious Affairs Matan Kahana later apologized, saying in remarks carried by All Israel News: “A few days ago, some extremists shouted at a group of visitors to the holy places. I would like to emphasize that shouting at the people who are the great supporters of Israel is counterproductive. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for this behavior on behalf of the Knesset.”

Kahana, who is a religious Jew, had previously told Israeli media about his meetings with Evangelical Christians, and the importance of the relationship to Israel. “I had a very important meeting with Christians and Evangelicals who support Israel,” he said in an interview with Israel’s Kan public broadcaster while in the United States in May. “This is a very important strategic relationship for the State of Israel – 70 million enthusiastic supporters of the country.”

Zechariah 14:16 refers to the olam haba – all those idiots will have been incinerated by then.

Anybody who fasts for “the increase of God’s salvation promises and plans for Jerusalem and Israel” is an idiot, because they don’t understand Scripture.

All of Jewry will enter the world to come, while the vast majority of Gentile unregenerate Trinitarian “Jesus lovers” will be burned.

Who do those people think Noah or Lot typify? Saved Jews?

Doesn’t Jerusalem have a role in converting the nations before that time? The world is becoming one under an ungodly globalism. The church is backsliding. If the redeemed embrace Zion, the goyim may take enough notice to go to Jerusalem for themselves and collect the biblical gospel.

What kind of “Christian” does Mr King think these missionaries are trying to make? Perhaps if he better defined what makes an acceptable Jewish Christian (as opposed to a Jewish Catholic or Protestant) it would help. The first apostles were Jews. Paul was an orthodox rabbi. Peter, James and John remained observant Jews until they went to glory. (…many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas …Acts 13:43) A Jewish Christian who is Zionist, Torah observant, feast keeping and biblical surely glorifies the Lord in a way that a nominal Jew or Christian doesn’t. The mayor should promote Jerusalem to convert the nations and bring them into a right relationship with the God of Israel. (Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Ps 51:13) Jerusalem is God’s hub for teaching the nations how to relate to Him. (Hashem is great in Tziyon; Ps 99:2; let kol Amim praise Thee. Ps 67:3 OJB)

    • Jake Wilson says:

Only a remnant of the nations will be left (because some 2 billion Trinitarians embrace a counterfeit).

The Jewish people can scream BEN ZONA as much as they like, – they will be saved (as foreshadowed by the story of Yosef in the Tanakh).

Yes, it would be desirable if Jews would lead non-Jews to a first-century Nazarene faith, but it doesn’t look that way.

Messianic Jews, by and large, worship the central dogma of their archenemy Rome Papal which is the “triune God” (advertised by J. Shulam, A. Fruchtenbaum, D. Stern, and all the other friendly Aaron’s who lead their own folk into idolatry).

Even ISRAEL TODAY sells “Christmas” as Jewish!!! So, why would you expect some “biblical gospel” from this corner…?

“I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour” + “I am saved by faith” are the two mantras which will fill Gehinnom with pagans.

      • Disciple 1978 says:

Thanks Jake. I would expect some biblical gospel from this corner because Isaiah 2:3 says, the word of the Lord goes out from Jerusalem. Messiah said his word, witness and power will go out from Jerusalem into all the earth in Acts 1:8. Ezekiel 40 ff describes the temple Yeshua will rule from during his millennium reign. (Rev 20) Since the Reformation, the redeemed have realised theology was mistaken in replacing Israel, and they are now embracing Israel, Jerusalem and the Jewish people. Our fellowship has a Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles celebration. We skip Easter and Christmas. The one new man of the new Adam that glorifies God in a common Jewish-Gentile expression is developing. Progress is being made, but we’re not fully Christ-like yet. The world needs changed as humanity is terribly deceived, let’s do it together.

        • Jake Wilson says:

Yes, Messiah the “prince” will rule (under YHWH), and Isa 2:2-3 certainly depicts the restoration of Israel and de-paganization of the gospel (while Acts 1:8 refers to the remote regions the early Nazarenes reached – India, Parthia, etc.).

It is also a good thing to keep the Jewish feasts, to embrace Israel, Jerusalem, and the Jewish people. However, NONE OF THIS WILL SAVE A GENTILE (though it may make them feel better).

The vast majority of so-called Christians is unregenerate, i.e. they have never been “baptized with fire” (providing they have been immersed in water at all).

They can “love the Jews” as long as the like, it won’t save them.

And if the Pope said, “Let’s do it together,” I’d run away as fast as I can.

Isa 2:4 should not be overlooked either. Hashem will burn the earth, and he will avenge his people (ethnic Jewry). Any nation who has persecuted the Jewish people will still be dealt with.

I’d be interested to hear how you believe a soul is saved. Catholicism created a worldly Christendom as an alternative to the gospel. YouTube Mike Gendron speaks well on this.
Yes, the nations are judged for how they treated Israel before their national redemption. Some nations don’t get a millenial life because of that. The UN and the nations take this issue too lightly.

  3. Jake Wilson says:

“Verily, verily, I say unto you: Unless a person is born of water and the Spirit [‘fire’], he cannot enter the kingdom of G-d.” (Jn 3.5)

The verse has nothing to do with embryonic fluid. And while all of Jewry will be reborn at the Parousia, it’ll be too late for unregenerate Gentiles then.

“Now, there was a ruler of the Yehudim, a Prisha, whose name was Nakdimon. He came to Yeshu by night and told him that he well knew that he had come from God, for no one could do the miracles which he did unless God was with him. And Yeshu said to him that he must believe more than that, for no one will enter heaven’s bliss except by immersion in water and by being reborn through the Ruach HaKodesh [fire].” (Pepysian Gospel 11:13–15)
