The vast majority of the Israeli population supports peace with Lebanon, as numerous polls on Israeli Telegram channels show. Over 70 to 80 percent of the country’s population wants peace with its northern neighbor. The same is heard on the Lebanese side, and we have reported on this frequently in recent months. After Israel eliminated the entire leadership of Hezbollah, thus crushing the Shiite terrorist militia in Lebanon and the axis of evil in Iran, Lebanese have mustered the courage to speak publicly on camera about peace and normalization with Israel. Those who advocate for rapprochement with Israel are Lebanese politicians and commentators from Christian, Sunni, and Druze communities.
Over the past year, several prominent Christian and Sunni figures in Lebanon have signaled their willingness to normalize relations with Israel.
