US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee met last night with representatives of the grassroots organization “Mothers of Combat Soldiers” (Imahot haLochamim; lit. “Mothers of the Warriors”) and expressed concern that most Gaza aid is still falling into the hands of Hamas.
Huckabee stressed that the Trump administration opposes transferring aid that serves to strengthen Hamas.
The issue was raised by the mothers, who praised the US-led Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) and its efforts, but expressed concern that the failure to keep UN-provided aid out of the hands of Hamas is prolonging the war and endangering their sons on the battlefield by bolstering the enemy.
Huckabee responded: “I agree 100%. Everything that goes in ends up in Hamas’s hands. We know this. Israel is forced to deal with UN institutions, and the UN is the offender – we will do everything to back Israel against the UN to stop this aid transfer.”
The ambassador was shown videos proving how the aid leads to the deaths of soldiers. His response was very sharp, reiterating the need for Hamas-free zones...
