The world is turning away from Israel. Israel is increasingly isolated—economically, politically, and culturally. The once-exemplary nation in the Middle East now appears to many as unapproachable, arrogant, and controversial, a state with which cooperation is hardly desired. The consequences: less trade, less collaboration, less trust. A country increasingly left to its own devices. Israel stands alone, caught between global suspicion and the necessity of asserting itself.
Already in the Bible, Jerusalem is described as a city that “sits alone among the nations”—a biblical image of isolation, destruction, and loss. It’s a historical reality that repeats itself time and again. From antiquity to today, Israel has been forced to face a world that constantly distances itself from it. Or is Israel destined to be “badad,” alone, isolated, and not to blend in among the nations?
