At the end of October, a unique and paradoxical event occurred in Tel Aviv. Assyrians and other Middle East minorities persecuted by Islamists, came to unite under the Israeli flag – in the Arabic language.
The Assyrian delegates saw this as a fulfillment of the prophecy in Isaiah 19, claiming: “The connection between Israel and Assyria is divinely ordained! Together, our countries can prove that the Middle East is not doomed to darkness, but can become a beacon of faith and reconciliation.”
The Bible tells us: In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. The Lord Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.” (Isaiah 19:24-25 NIV)
