On Thursday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will hold a meeting with the heads of the security establishment. Israel’s defense chiefs will present the various options under discussion on all fronts ahead of the crucial meeting between Bibi and US President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago at the end of the month.
Israel is currently in a phase of waiting, where the ceasefire is on the verge of collapse on nearly all fronts: in Gaza, Lebanon, against Iran, and in Syria. Dramatic decisions are required—against the backdrop of Trump having made it unmistakably clear that his political legacy is peace, and that he will not allow Netanyahu to “ruin” it for him.
Clarity will only come after the two meetings: first between Netanyahu and Trump, then with Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
