It is the marathon with the most participants in Israel, with up to 30,000 runners from all over the world. In 2017, participants from 62 countries competed in the Holy City.
The route leads along many historical and cultural sites. It touches the Old City, David’s Citadel, the Knesset, the Mahaneh Yehudah market and many other points of interest. It can be said that the marathon brings the runners into contact with the 3,000-year history of the Israeli capital.
