Sigd is celebrated on the 29th day of the Jewish month of Cheshvan, and since 2008 is regarded as an official holiday in Israel. Spiritual leaders, Israeli personalities, along with many curious onlookers, gathered together to celebrate alongside the Jewish community from Ethiopia. Sigd has its origins in the Bible, as it commemorates the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai. During this festival, everyone prays for peace in Zion, Jerusalem, and for the whole nation of Israel....
