At the end of his life, King David witnessed political intrigues and shifting loyalties among his sons Absalom and Adonijah, as well as within his court. The central question of who would succeed David as king of Israel was fraught with uncertainty. David decided that Solomon would inherit the throne and entrusted him with his final legacy. He warned Solomon about what we might today call a “Deep State.” There were courtiers who, over the years, had gained significant influence and saw themselves as guardians of the state. These individuals held the authority to make decisions, effectively creating a “state within a state.” While these elites appeared loyal, in reality, they were not—or only partially so—and pursued their own agendas.
David had faced numerous persecutions and challenges before the kingdom of Israel was firmly established. The left has never profited any nation throughout history. There has always been contention and infighting among the political elements and a turning of the people away from the Lord. I believe this war is not over because the Lord is going to bring Israel out of it Himself to bring the Jews to Himself.
