Many of my acquaintances do not know that more than two decades ago I lived for several years in Europe, mainly in Paris, from where I traveled across the continent. As someone who knew the “old Europe” and who has recently returned there, I can say with certainty: Europe has completely changed its face—and for the worse.
Insecurity in the streets, dirty cities, no-go zones, anarchy, migrants dominating public spaces; markets reminiscent of countries like Algeria can now be found in the heart of Vienna and Paris. Moreover, the local population has largely disappeared from the European urban landscape, replaced by other groups.
Naive Europe opened its gates to migrants from the Middle East—well before the massive migration initiated by Angela Merkel for Syrians. In reality, migrants arrived from across the Middle East to Sweden, France, and Britain—not only Arabs, but also Turks, Pakistanis, and others. This is not a series of isolated migration waves but a de facto population exchange. In Brussels and parts of Ireland, more than 50 percent of children are now not native-born. Low birth...
