I’m not really into politics – the strategies, games, rivalries, and bulldozer mentality one must have to gain political ground has never appealed to me. But I appreciate those destined for it who are given authority by God (and voters) to serve in the public’s best interest.
In the last few years, I have noticed a shift in the political climate – it has degenerated into a system that has lost its basic respect for hierarchy.
The Israeli public has watched respectable figures (without naming names) use their tongues as swords to slice down their opponents in the most disrespectful of ways. In the process, they have reduced themselves from impressive leaders to immature children, bickering, screaming insults, and even cursing.
It starts with removing other politicians’ titles and calling them by their first name alone, adding unnecessary adjectives, playing blame games, and borderline blasphemous speech, intent on swaying public opinion and dethroning their opponent.
