It’s like the “Cliff Notes” version of Israeli music in the Hebrew year 5779.
As we approach Rosh Hashanah 5780 (September 29, 2019), radio stations throughout Israel have been looking back at the best Israeli music of the past 12 months. And as usual, Galit and Artur come to the rescue.
Our favorite Israeli mash-up artists, Galit Mor and Artur Katz, are back with another musical retrospective of the 32 (by our count) most popular Israeli songs of 5779. But this time, they’ve recruited some help from their friends from Lahakat HaTzva’it, the IDF Band.
And their playground? None other than the offices and studios of Galgalatz, the Israel Army Radio, located in beautiful Jaffa.
I’ve watched it five times already and can’t get enough. How many songs can you identify?
The 32 Most Popular Israeli Songs of 5779, according to Galit & Artur:
