MembersGaza redux: 20 years after disengagement, Israel sees what Europe cannot

Israelis now know what Ariel Sharon did not: The neighboring Strip cannot be left to Hamas or any radical Islamist Palestinian element.

(JNS) When Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon pulled Israelis out of the Gaza Strip in 2005, he promised it would bring peace and end the violence. He declared that if one missile were fired from Gaza, Israel would have the right to return.

It didn’t take one missile. It took more than 30,000 rockets, mortars and missiles over the course of two decades, four wars and the largest pogrom against Jews since the Holocaust before Israelis were forced to face the truth: Leaving Gaza was not a step toward peace. It was an invitation to war and terror.

For all the world’s accusations, Israel does not lust for conquest. Jews don’t fight unless they have no choice or are faced with kill or be killed.

Our faith and our values drive us to prefer compromise and coexistence. But when survival is at stake, we fight—not for empire but for the defense of our people. If Israel returns to control the Gaza Strip, that is not aggression. It is defense. No sovereign nation can allow a terrorist enclave...

    Yes, Yes and Yes !
The only way Hamas will show any respect is total defeat, including permanent loss of territory,

  2. AGR says:

The, Jews, are the original Palestinians, not the so called, “Palestinians/Gazans,” who are living in a place they brought destruction on through their hatred. Their, hatred, brought on their new identity as, “Palestinians,” in the Kremlin in Moscow in the mid 1960’s. They were created for the purpose they have fully worked for that we all over the world, see, today.
Those governments wanting to give them a state next to Israel are aiding and abetting more lies, more murder, more terror and everything else that goes along with the evil the people living in Gaza have become a part of. All the wealth that has poured into the coffers of Hamas and the PA, got there because of the Soviets and the Russian governments. Russia, should be the new home of the “Palestinians.”
Israel, belongs to the Jews, they have an everlasting covenant with the Holder of the deed to the land of Israel.
According to the scriptures and the prophets, the Lord Himself will evict those, who have their hearts full of hatred for the Jews, from Israel. And from what we see, it won’t be long before that happens.
