I won’t feed the media monster by sacrificing more human flesh, especially not a brother, but in short – a comment made publicly by Chaim Malespin, Director of the Aliyah Return Center, reached Israeli media when he claimed that Lihi, the wife of outgoing Prime Minister Yair Lapid, was a confirmed Messianic Jew.

This controversy caused a national uproar and was weaponized ruthlessly by the media and politicians, eager to take Yair Lapid down with the worst charge of all – “being a Messianic Jew.”

After a denial by Lihi Lapid of these so-called ‘facts,’ a shaken and appalled public moved on to the 2022 elections, when rumors and skeletons were taken out of the closet, putting Chaim in the hot seat again.

    Chaim Malespin is certainly a man of honour. He has apologized to Yair Lapid via video and acknowledged his mistake. That’s humility!
    All of us make mistakes, not all of us ask for forgiveness, but he has. That’s the “ take home” message!
