Israel on Tuesday carried out a second round of retaliatory strikes against the Houthi regime in Yemen, this time targeting Sana’a International Airport in the nation’s capital city.
The latest long-distance airstrikes against Yemen come in response to a Houthi ballistic missile attack on Sunday that hit just outside Ben-Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. Houthi officials boasted that they had “shut down for more than an hour” Israel’s primary international lifeline.
Following today’s dramatic airstrike, the IDF Spokesman retorted: “We struck and fully disabled the main airport in Sana’a. Flight runways, aircraft, and infrastructure were hit.”

Israeli planes also struck several power plants in the Sana’a area, as well as the “Al Imran” Concrete Plant, located north of the capital, which serves as a significant resource for the Houthi terrorist regime and is used for the construction of underground tunnels and other terrorist infrastructure.
The IDF said these strikes further degrade the Houthi regime’s economic and military buildup capabilities.
Israel gave Yemen an advanced warning of over 45 minutes before the airstrikes began, and the airport was empty by the time IDF planes began dropping their bombs.
Houthi officials vowed to “meet escalation with escalation,” insisting that they still had many more targets to hit in Israel, and would do so in due course.
