Throughout history, the Jewish people lived in survival mode feeling like victims. You can recognize the behavior patterns. Victimhood and survival are patterns we have known since the dawn of history. Always there has been an enemy rising up and wanting to destroy. Always there has been existential insecurity. Even the Land of Israel has not long been a safe place for the Jewish people. Always, throughout all generations, there came a point where the feeling of security ended, and the feeling of survival became reality. And a feeling of, “In a moment we will have to leave the country and go wandering” began to whisper in our ears.
Even when we inhabited the Land of Israel, we plowed fields, built houses, gave birth to children, and took care of the next generation.
Even when we lived a “normal” life and opened restaurants, spent time on the beach. Even when tourists from all over the world visited here.
Even when we prayed in Israel, in the synagogues or at the Western Wall, and celebrated the biblical holiday traditions, and even...
