The profound and significant success of Operation “Rising Lion” cannot be assessed immediately but only over a longer period. It will take months, perhaps years, to understand whether the operation achieved its core objectives—namely, significantly weakening Iran’s nuclear program, establishing deterrence, and securing operational freedom for the IDF in Iranian airspace and within Iran generally. We will only know this with time, just as we didn’t immediately realize how severely Hezbollah was hit after the Lebanon War. The proof: Hezbollah continues to absorb blows and dares not respond to the IDF’s systematic attacks.
The same applies to Iran. But if we look at the day the operation ended, one thing is clear: Israel’s successes are immense. Just imagine where we stood twelve days ago—and where we are today. If someone had told us then that Iran would have no nuclear capabilities, that the IDF could operate freely over Iran, destroy targets, and even eliminate Revolutionary Guard leaders, it would have seemed unimaginable.
