Survival is necessary but never sufficient. Israel has always lived with the knowledge that survival is not guaranteed. It is experience etched into memory of the Jewish people. Borders here are not lines on a map. A mistake here is not embarrassing. It is fatal. Rockets, terror attacks, hostile borders, and repeated wars have shaped the instincts of a people who know what it means to live one miscalculation away from catastrophe. Vigilance here is not optional. Strength is not ideological. Defense is not theoretical. It is existential.

Israel’s survival is the result of courage, sacrifice, discipline, and a willingness to bear unbearable costs. Military strength, intelligence capabilities, and technological achievement did not happen by accident. They have saved lives. Those who suppose otherwise are not being honest with reality. They are disconnected, naïve, or just plain foolish.

But history teaches something else as well. Survival alone is never the full story. It is the condition that makes the story possible, not the story itself.
