The Jewish High Holidays start with Rosh Hashanah, which begins this Friday evening and ends at sundown on Sunday, Sept. 17.

I’m forever getting into arguments with otherwise knowledgeable Jews in Israel who claim that Rosh Hashanah marks the date on which the world was created.

Rosh Hashanah marks the date of the creation of Adam and Eve and counts 5784 years since that biblical event.

On the other hand, it’s hard to find people here who would argue against my low opinion of the United Nations.
