Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas had to address the UN General Assembly via video link after the Trump administration refused to grant him an entry visa to attend the gathering in New York City in person.
But he made the most of it.
Abbas launched into a predictable rant against alleged Israeli crimes while presenting himself and the Palestinian Arabs as innocent victims.
We’ve heard it all before.
But the Israeli Foreign Ministry took particular offense at the Palestinian leader’s decision to wear a small lapel pin shaped like a key. It’s a well known symbol of the Palestinian demand for a “right of return” to the entire Land of Israel.
You know how the Palestinians uniquely pass their “refugee” status on to their children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren, so that they now number in the millions? Well, one of the Palestinian Authority’s key demands is that all those people, now estimated to number as high as seven million, be given unrestricted freedom to take up residence in Israel.
