The Knesset has officially launched its Bible Lobby aimed at boosting familiarity with the Word of God in Israel.

The launch ceremony, which took place in the Knesset’s Jerusalem Hall on Tuesday, was attended by the lobby’s head Member of Knesset (MK) Uzi Dayan, Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin, Chief Rabbi of Israel Rabbi David Lau, winner of the 2020 World Bible Quiz Ruth Cohen, and other MKs.

“The lobby aims to increase the number and variety of Bible students and those who love Scripture,” Dayan said.

The lobby will hold a national Bible study event in Hebrew and an international event in English once every two months.

In addition, the lobby will encourage domestic and foreign biblical tourism with an emphasis on youth, and tours in the land of the Bible.

The activities of the lobby will be accompanied by the Society for the Study of the Bible, which was founded by David Ben-Gurion, and the Jerusalem Shalom Foundation.
