Man Tries to Blow Up Netanyahu Family Home
Police arrest man carrying what’s believed to be bag of explosives in Netanyahu’s neighborhood in Caesarea
An Israeli man was arrested in Caesarea on Friday after locals told police that he was carrying a bag of explosives and searching for the Netanyahu family home.
While the prime minister's official residence is in Jerusalem, the Netanyahu family's private home is in the upscale coastal town.
Neighbors called police after they said the man in question asked them for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address. He was later heard screaming, "I'm going to kill Bibi," using the Israeli leader's well-known nickname.
He was carrying a large bag believed to be filled with explosives. Police responding to the scene called in sappers to deal with the possible bomb.
The Netanyahu family was not in any danger, as both the prime minister, his wife Sara, and their two sons were all abroad at the time.
Netanyahu, Sarai and their eldest son, Yair, are all currently in Brazil to attend the inauguration of president-elect Jair Bolsonaro.
