The meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump ended without a public decision. However, a clear picture emerges from the unusual briefing of a high-ranking Israeli government official: Israel is awaiting Trump’s decision on the next step toward Iran – a new agreement, continued economic pressure, or a resumption of attacks. In Jerusalem, it is not being concealed that, from Israel’s perspective, the military option remains on the table.
Israel expressed satisfaction with Trump’s statements that Iran would face severe consequences in the event of a confrontation. This is seen as a significant signal to Tehran. Despite the optimistic atmosphere surrounding the meeting, no decision has yet been reached. Talks between the US and Iran are ongoing. According to a regional source, a direct line of communication also exists between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff .
