Magen David Adom mourns the death of Sergeant Major Neria Moshe Cohen who volunteered for three years in the Givat Shmuel MDA station and was killed on June 4, at the age of 26. Neria was an IDF reserve soldier and fought in the Iron Swords war. Neria leaves parents, a brother and two sisters and was buried in the military cemetery in Har Herzl in Jerusalem, accompanied by many friends and family on his last journey.

Noa Levy, MDA EMT: “I met Neria six years ago, when we volunteered together. During the EMT course we connected and did many shifts together at the station. He was a charitable, giving person, with unending joy. He wanted to volunteer and help at any opportunity, and always treated his patients professionally and with a smile. My last conversation with him was just a few days ago, and I can’t believe he’s no longer with us. I miss him greatly, the station is incomplete without him. May his memory be blessed.”

MDA EMT Esti Friedman in her eulogy: “Neria and I were born at the same time on the same day, and received our MDA first responders’ kit on the same day. We grew together in the organization, and were very good friends. He was always quiet and modest and wanted to help everyone around him – not for honor or thanks, just out of the kindness of his heart. As well as volunteering with MDA, he always aimed for great heights in the medical field and was in his third year of medical school in the Beer Sheva University. He was active around the clock to fulfill his dreams, that always involved helping others. We will miss him greatly.”

MDA Director General Eli Bin: “The MDA family has lost a professional, well-loved and talented volunteer, who sought to help and smile at every opportunity. We send our deepest condolences to his dear family, and hold them close at this difficult time.”
