The media have aided Hamas, Iran, and their apologists in promoting nonsensical and often comically outlandish assertions would otherwise be mocked and ignored.

Two things we today know to be true of the mainstream media: it needs “sensationalist” reports to keep eyeballs fixed and ad money flowing, and it operates with an ingrained anti-Israel bias. So when Israel’s enemies come with absurd claims against the Jewish state, some of which rival medieval antisemitic blood libels, the media is quick to publish and slow to check facts. Better to get the clicks and issue a “correction” later.

This mode of operation is a boon to the likes of Hamas and Iran and their global apologists, whose nonsensical and often comically outlandish assertions would otherwise be mocked and ignored.

Here are just a few of the modern blood libels leveled against Israel in recent weeks.

1. “Tiger pit” in front of aid stations
