In an attack by the Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorist militia, an Israeli was killed on Sunday morning in the north of the country. According to the rescue service Magen David Adom, the man was discovered in his vehicle in the area known as the Galilee Panhandle — by then, any help came too late.
“Paramedics and emergency doctors found a man trapped in a vehicle, with no signs of life,” the rescue service said.
The Israeli military confirmed that fire had been launched from Lebanon at a town on the northern border. “Fire from Lebanese territory was identified. There is damage and there are casualties,” the army said.

According to reports in Israeli media, the vehicle was deliberately hit by an anti-tank missile. An official confirmation regarding the exact type of weapon system used was not initially available.
Since the beginning of the direct military confrontation with Iran, the situation on the northern border has also escalated considerably. Hezbollah has since intensified its attacks on Israel with rockets and drones, effectively opening a second front.
Israel is responding with ongoing airstrikes on targets in southern Lebanon as well as with military preparations along the border. The aim is to stop the attacks and push Hezbollah back from the border areas.
The deadly attack on Sunday once again underscores the tense security situation in the north. While Israel continues to fend off rocket attacks from Iran, the threat posed by Hezbollah also remains a central factor in the current war.
