Over the past 11 days, more than 4,000 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip at Israeli cities, including Jerusalem. Israel’s response, Shomer Hachomot, “Operation Guardian of the Walls,” was swift and powerful.

Since the start of the operation, Israel has more civilian casualties (nine!) than it did in the last Gaza war in 2014, when six Israeli citizens were killed over the course of 50 days.

Even as a ceasefire comes into effect and Guardian of the Walls winds down, the Israeli army remains on high alert and ready to respond to any further assault on the Jewish state.
