The town of Tiberias on the shores of the Sea of Galilee has become a focal point for tension between ultra-Orthodox and secular Israeli Jews in recent months.

Leading the charge has been the new mayor of Tiberias, Ron Aharon Cobi, whose provocative policies and social media posts are aimed at breaking ultra-Orthodox hegemony over many aspects of Israeli life.
