
While it may sound relatively benign (indeed, the Western media has often referred to it as “peaceful protest”), throwing stones can and has wounded and killed many Israelis.
I n that light, consider the events of November 1, when the Diary reported no fewer than 12 incidents of stone-throwing, along with one pipebomb and one Molotov cocktail (firebomb) hurled either at Jewish civilians or soldiers. No one was reported injured. The following day, 16 such incidents occurred, and six more on the day after that (November 3), when one person was wounded. On November 4, 10 such incidents were logged, and the list goes on thus. The Diary reports that from November 1 to November 19, there were 80 cases of low-intensity Arab terror during which a number of Israelis were wounded.
