Israelis have lost faith that they can ever live in peace with the Palestinians. I have been hearing this more and more over the past eight months. Especially from my adult children and their friends. A generation that will ultimately have to take Israel’s future into its own hands. I also hear it from colleagues and friends from all walks of life. October 7th has destroyed all remaining trust. Not only in Arabs, but also in other peoples. Israelis are losing faith and trust in other people, especially at a time when the world does not understand Israel’s right to defend itself. Israel is being asked to do impossible things, such as restraint and love in war, which other nations do not ask of themselves, and this makes Israelis frustrated and angry.
