Over the course of the current war we have reported repeatedly on how Palestinians in the Gaza Strip expressed their anger toward the Arab nations. They hoped that the war in Gaza would lead the Arab states to break off relations with Israel. But no, the Arab governments have once again betrayed the Palestinians, and I think it’s time for the Palestinians to ask themselves why they are continually abandoned by their Muslim brothers and sisters. Frankly, the Arab governments didn’t care about the Palestinians during the first and second intifadas, either. This is something the Palestinians themselves claim.
Palestinian dissatisfaction is growing because the Arab world has not responded to their suffering in the Gaza Strip. Sure, they help here and there with humanitarian aid deliveries by land, air and sea. Yes, even Israel helps its Palestinian enemies during the war. But the Palestinians dream and fantasize that the Arab nations will overrun Israel—and that’s not happening.
