
While Israelis are busy fighting one another over whether or not to annex the Jordan Valley (See: “Why Jewish Settlers Reject Annexation”), the Palestinian Authority’s vigorous opposition to this move is belied by the indifference of the Palestinians who will actually be annexed.
Most right-wing Israelis insist the Jordan Valley must be annexed. Left-wing Israelis insist the move is illegal. But the Palestinian Arabs living in the Jordan Valley don’t seem to care one way or another, so long as they can live their lives in peace.
But here’s the deal – these Arabs don’t necessarily mind being annexed by Israel, so long as Israel takes them along with the land.
