Left and right-wing Israelis have become strange bedfellows in opposing annexation of biblical heartland

The imminent annexation of Jewish settlements in the biblical heartlands of Judea and Samaria, which the foreign media calls the “occupied West Bank,” is not only controversial among left-wing Israelis and Arabs.

The biggest opponents of Donald Trump’s peace plan giving Israel sovereignty over portions of Judea and Samaria are the Jewish settlers themselves. Their disapproval of the planned appropriation of lands goes so far that the right-wing Jewish Settlers Council and the left-wing movement “Peace Now” are now cooperating to prevent the annexation this summer.

Who knows, perhaps the Left will have to thank the Jewish settlers afterwards if the annexation fails!
