On this question of the Jewish State, I got to thinking that way back when God gave a Land and a Law to the Children of Israel, the families of Abraham were to settle in the land and the law of the land was to be the Torah of God.
Israel was not to be governed by the whip and whim of fickle humans, be they kings, rulers or pretty-faced presidents. The people of Israel, and their leaders, were to be ruled by divinely inspired laws upon which they could build a wholesome and purposeful “light-to-the-Gentiles” society. Those Ten Commandments together with all the principles set out in the Torah for Israel eventually became foundational to the development of modern democratic civilization; laws and social contracts that allow us to live together in relative peace, cold as it may be.
Now, however, there is chaos in democracies around the world as a result of loss of faith in the moral standards upon which Western societies are built. These God-given foundations...
