Donald Trump’s first nominations concern foreign and security policy. This shows that he will attach great importance to this area. Unlike in his first term, when he appointed unusual people like Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State, who was CEO of an oil company and whom he fired after two years. The fact that he is now selecting serious candidates early on, namely Elise Stefanik as UN ambassador, Marco Rubio as Secretary of State, and Mike Waltz as National Security Adviser – all politicians from Congress or the Senate – shows that Trump is selecting people who are loyal to him and who are young enough to stay in politics and later aspire to higher offices,” said former Israeli ambassador to the US Danny Ayalon in a conversation with Israel Today correspondent Yossi Aloni.
