As Israel marks the third anniversary of the October 7 Hamas massacre, one question still lingers: where were the Christians?
For decades, Christian leaders said tens, if not hundreds, of millions of believers stood with Israel, and that the Jewish people would never again stand alone. But on October 8, 2023, Western cities and campuses were filled with anti-Israel mobs, not Christians showing their support. Since then, more believers have spoken up, but they are still vastly outnumbered, and many Israelis feel isolated.
In this episode, Ryan Jones speaks with Pastor Jim Scudder of Quentin Road Baptist Church near Chicago. Scudder is co-author of the new book The Spiritual War Against Israel. He sees two root causes: fear, and a lack of biblical literacy, especially among younger Christians who see the Gaza war as a David and Goliath story with the moral roles reversed.
His answer is simple: Christian support for Israel is real, but it has to be seen. Just show up.
