Watch the Story of This Israeli Christian Officer
The moving story of a young Arab Christian girl who, like so many others, has chosen to fight for the Jewish state.
The phenomenon of Israeli Christian enlistment to the Israeli army continues to expand. This time it’s an officer! And a girl!
For Israeli Jews finishing high school, service in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is mandatory. But growing numbers of Arabic-speaking Christians are joining forces with their Jewish countrymen.
Some of these brave young Christian men and women receive death threats and are beaten by local Arabs who regard their IDF service as treasonous. Read one young soldier’s testimony here and the troubles Arab politicians are giving these young dedicated Christian soldiers. The situation got so bad that the Israeli Knesset (parliament) passed a bill designed to protect Christians who enlist in the Israeli army.
A new spirit among Israel’s Christian community
Today’s testimony uploaded by the IDF of Lieutenant Nadeel paints a whole new picture. Here you will see an entire village supporting her Israeli military service and rejoicing that she has succeeded in becoming an officer. As more and more Israeli Christians join the IDF, they, their families and communities are becoming bolder and more willing to stand up for Israel in spite of the dangers they face, not only on the battlefield, but from within the Arab and Muslim world.
There are over 130,000 Christian Arab citizens in Israel, and unprecedented numbers continue to enlist. Like Nadeel, they are becoming some of Israel’s most powerful spokespeople for what life is really like in the Jewish Nation.
It is also interesting to note that Nadeel choses to define herself simply as an Israeli Christian, not an Arab Christian. This would indicate that her faith in Yeshua (Jesus) is her primary identity, and also as an Israeli, though in Israel she would be looked at primarily as an Arab. Kudos to the IDF for promoting this young Christian officer’s delightful story.
Arabs love Israel and Jews love Arabs?
Perhaps the most moving part of this story is how Nadeel connects with her Jewish army buddies, and how they accept and rejoice with her. What a wonderful scene. This is the real story of Israel, and I encourage our readers to share this and other stories like it so that the world will know the truth, and the truth will set us free from the destructive lies and hatred being spread about Israel.
And let our prayers be for even more courage for Israel’s soldiers, Jewish and Christian, and that their bold message of serving together to defend the Jewish Nation and living together in a united Israel will reach even more people.
