The sentiment among the Israeli public is largely in favor of an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, regardless of the consequences. Of course, “everything could go wrong,” as many understand the risks involved, but this is typical of Israel. Despite all the dangers, people in the country see this as “the urgent need of the hour.” It’s true that an Israeli attack on Iran could fail and result in a multi-front war. Yet, the majority wants to see Iran’s nuclear facilities bombed. From a Western perspective, this might seem like madness, but not for the people of Israel.
Following the elimination of Ismail Haniyeh and Hassan Nasrallah, Iran responded in early October by launching 181 ballistic missiles at Israel. This second missile attack from Iran also failed, thwarted by Israel’s missile defense system. While some rockets did land in Israel, they caused no significant damage.
