“He is one of the righteous gentiles of the world,” Operation Benjamin co-founder Shalom Lamm told JNS about Dirk Backen, who helped bring the remains of a Jewish American soldier home and works to identify German Jewish soldiers mistakenly buried beneath crosses.
“We have seen over the past three years how quickly people take criticism against Israel to attack and intimidate the Jewish community of Canada,” Iddo Moed, Israeli ambassador to Canada, told JNS.
