For several days now, reports about internal leaks in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office have been making headlines.

Everything escalated with the recent publication in the German publication Bild. The main suspect in the so-called “internal leaks” from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office is Eli Feldstein, who has been detained. But what’s behind this? Why is this affair so complex and divisive? Could it really be possible, as political commentator Jacob Bardugo, a close friend of Netanyahu, claimed on Channel 14 regarding the transmission of confidential documents: “The Shin Bet and the Israeli army are trying to overthrow the government of Israel”? It’s no secret that since the beginning of the war on October 7, the right-wing government and the Israeli security apparatus have been at loggerheads. From the outset, there have been repeated reports about the lack of trust between the government and the security agencies, with both sides blaming the other for the fiasco in the country.
