Ancient Egypt was a great kingdom, and its power is reflected in its wonderful architecture and important inventions. But Egypt’s artistic and religious wealth is no more than a distant memory of a great culture in the Middle East. In this article, we want to briefly explore the contributions of great empires to culture, art, law, faith and religion. Throughout history, God’s chosen people have confronted world empires. Israel has survived all world empires, the relics of which we can marvel at today in museums around the world. Does it all depend on territorial size? To what extent can the chosen people of the Bible, Jews and Israel, be called an “empire”? The tiny nation of Israel is a living testimony to the God of the Bible.
